Job Summary

  • Primarily responsible for the technical aspects of projects and project management
    responsibilities
    as required
  • Develop controls designs and electrical schematics; specifying hardware and components
  • Develop PLC/HMI/SCADA programs
  • Set up VFDs and servo systems
  • Commissioning and debugging machines at customer sites
  • Troubleshooting electrical/mechanical and fluid power systems
  • Setup of robots and teaching paths
  • Develop and verify safety systems; understanding safety risk assessments
  • Manage client relationship and project scope under direction of Account Manager; communicating
    project schedule requirements
  • Provide direction to junior staff members
  • Comfortable executing and/or leading small to mid-sized automation projects

Education & Work Experience

  • Programming experience with current PLC, HMI and VFDs
  • Exposure to SCADA and motion control

    SAT,
    final documentation and closing out projects
  • Programming knowledge of multiple software platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Omron,
    Toyopuc,
    etc.)
  • Robot programming and configuration of multiple manufacturers (ABB, Fanuc, Motoman, Nachi, Kuka,

  • Independent on-site commissioning and startup experience

Job Summary

HR Responsibilities

  • Manage the administration of all HR related activities including preparing job descriptions, performance and attendance management, compensation & qualifications, employee staffing, employee development, retention, discipline etc.
  • Provide management and staff with guidance, education and counsel on Human Resources practices, regulations, recommendations and updates from legislation including WSIB and the MOL
  • Maintain the RidgeTech employee handbook and all related policies and procedures
  • Coordinate employee review activities including meeting with supervisors and managers to solicit feedback and preparing review documentation
  • Coordinate safety training
  • Manage recruitment activities including attending career fairs, posting positions with local schools for co-op & graduate positions and maintaining an active RidgeTech presence on social media
  • Screen resumes and conduct preliminary phone interviews with prospective candidates
  • Present new employee orientation packages in conjunction with RidgeTech Management
  • Manage employee records and performance review documentation
  • Manage benefits, vacation time and absences.  Recommend appropriate updates to company compensation directives in order to remain competitive in our market space
  • Monitor hours worked with supervisors and management
  • Monitor H&S compliance of all employees and maintain the Safety accounts
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Office Manager and RidgeTech Directors
  • Provides back up support for payroll administration when needed
  • Conduct regular research & analysis on internal and external corporate trends to present to the directors
  • Monitor and present internal HR metrics annually

H&S Responsibilities

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, CSA Electrical and Industrial Standards and other applicable codes and regulations as they relate to our industry
  • Oversee and maintain the RidgeTech Automation Health & Safety Program as required to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations
  • Conduct and administer JHSC meetings and complete outstanding items as required to ensure compliance
  • Responsible for WSIB related requirements including completing Form 7, Return to Work, liaise with WSIB when required, etc.
  • Maintain Health & Safety records including training, inspections and incident reports
  • Update Management and Staff regarding the latest Health & Safety news and industry related topics
  • Uphold safe working practices as they apply to the office and on-site for out of office employees
  • Maintain corporate H&S certifications and accounts
  • Review employee Job Safety Analysis forms and perform regular PPE audits and site visits

Education & Work Experience

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resource Management
  • Minimum 3 years of Human Resources experience in a comparable role is required
  • CHRP designation would be an asset

Job Knowledge

  • Highly motivated and professional person with sound knowledge and experience in Human Resource Management and Health and Safety practices.
  • Possess a thorough knowledge and strong understanding of all related legislation including the Employments Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act
  • Strong computer skills, excellent presentation skills, effective verbal and written communication and the ability to build and maintain collaborative, positive business relationships
  • Ability to manage and organize time and tasks efficiently
  • Ability to schedule and meet deadlines
  • First aid certificate would be an asset
  • JHSC certification would be an asset
