The team members at RidgeTech Automation Inc. are pleased to announce the opening of their new business located in Cambridge, ON. RidgeTech is a technology solutions company specializing in control systems integration, electrical engineering and project management. RidgeTech partners with machine builders, manufacturers and other engineering firms to develop and integrate automation projects both locally and around the world. “Cambridge was an easy choice for us. It’s perfectly suited to service the Toronto – Windsor corridor, and being five minutes from the 401, it’s an easy commute for employees. It also allows us to mobilize quickly for service when our customers need support,” says Mark Burtenshaw, Account Manager at RidgeTech.
RidgeTech was founded by six industry professionals, each with a wide variety of experience in the automation industry. They are all excited to be able to share the experience and knowledge they have accumulated over the years. “It was amazing when we sat down and added up each partner’s collective time in the industry. We suddenly realized we had over 100 years of controls and automation experience sitting around the table,” says Mike Wood, President of RidgeTech. “We are extremely grateful and excited with the response we have had, both from customers and those looking for employment in the area. Having local access to some of the country’s top engineering programs with the University of Waterloo and Conestoga College, each 15 minutes away, will help us immensely in building our team and growing our business. We are excited as RidgeTech has already begun working with companies here in Southwestern Ontario and abroad,” says Wood.
RidgeTech’s team has hit the ground running, and are already busy working on the first round of projects that the company has been awarded. “We have team members on-site in Hamilton helping one of Canada’s largest food companies launch a brand-new one million square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. We have also begun a project integrating next generation lasers to assist in advanced manufacturing processes for one of the world’s leading innovators in the automotive manufacturing industry. We hope this is a sign of things to come. Customers are already leveraging our experience to help themselves expand into new technologies and processes,” said Leigh Spraggett, Vice President at RidgeTech.
RidgeTech team members understand the competitive nature of both the manufacturing and automation industries, and they intend to offer more to their customers than they have seen offered in the past. They have used their experience to develop and implement new quality assurance, job tracking and training programs. “When we began working on our quality assurance programs, we looked at what we as a group had learned from various industry sectors: food processing, water treatment, mining, steel production and automotive. We identified what we believed were the best practices in each industry and have combined them in our program. We are confident our customers will see huge benefits from this approach with reduced start-up times and higher quality solutions,” says Adam Kocher, Automation Manager.
